i should really remind myself that when the house is quiet, i am sure to find a certain little boy getting into mischief… that certainly he isn’t still sitting in his room nicely building blocks where i had just left him. no, of course not. instead he’s “washing” his hair with vaseline! because that’s what you do with vaseline. according to connor anyway.
those of you that follow me on instagram saw that i found this little
trouble maker explorer in my bathroom scooping out handfuls, quite literally (seriously, the container was near empty by the time i got to him) of vaseline into his hair. he was awfully proud of himself when i walked in.
connor: “mommy, i washin’ my hair”
me: “wow, you are. what are you using to wash it with?” (by now the damage was done and i didn’t even attempt to take the container away from him)
he was the biggest grease ball for about 3 days. that’s how long it took me to get it out. per advice from facebook friends, a little baby powder and dawn dish soap did the trick. i just carefully sprinkled in a bunch of powder, rubbed it around and then washed with dawn. it took about 3 times doing this and then he was a greaseball no more.
the next day as i was nursing penelope, there was a familiar quiet about the house and low and behold, there’s connor standing up on the desk chair scribbling on my computer screen with a sharpie pen. guess we’ll be checking into that warranty…
